  • AYSO uses Birth Year Registration, meaning placement is based on your child’s age at the end of the season, not their current age. This can sometimes make it seem like they are placed in an older division. The system automatically calculates the correct division for your child, so you don’t need to worry about selecting the right one.

  • The United States Soccer Federation (USSF) mandates that teams are formed based on birth year rather than school year. For example, in the 10U division for 2019-2020, children born in 2010 and 2011 will play together. The registration system ensures players are placed with their appropriate peers.

  • We do our best to group teams by elementary school so players are with their peers. However, if you’re looking to keep a specific team together, we recommend considering our ACT or United competitive programs, which allow teams to remain intact.

    • Playing Up means joining an older age division.

      • Players younger than 9U cannot play up.

      • 10U and above may request to play up one year based on birth year, subject to approval by the Regional Coach Administrator.

        • Parents should consider the physical and skill level differences when requesting to play up.

Playing Down is not permitted—players must play in their assigned birth-year division.

  • The AYSO Membership Fee (formerly the National Player Fee) is a non-refundable $25 fee required annually for participation. It covers:

✔ Membership Player ID Card (digital)

    ✔ Soccer Accident Insurance

    ✔ Special offers & discounts

✔ Access to the AYSO Player website channel

This fee is only charged once per Membership Year (August 1 - July 31), no matter how many programs or regions your child participates in.

  • No, once a player is created, their information cannot be edited. This ensures that player records remain consistent with their AYSO ID.

If any information was entered incorrectly and needs to be updated, please contact the AYSO Region 104 Admin Team at help@ayso104.org with the details that need to be changed.

    • Full refunds (minus the National Player Fee) are available until July 31.

    • 50% refunds (local fees only) are available from August 1 until the first practice.

    • No refunds will be given after the first game of the Fall season.
